This treatment usually begins with the use of Clomiphene Citrate, one oral tablet is taken daily for 5 days, between the third and seventh day of the menstrual cycle. In cases of anovulation, this technique is essential to perform a stimulated cycle.
Another therapeutic option is the use of hormones to carry out the cycle. In this case, the hormones are given by subcutaneous injection into the abdomen.
The stimulated cycle usually begins on the second or third day. During this period, follicular development is monitored by ultrasound, until the follicles have reached the appropriate number and size. At that moment, ovulation is triggered by another hormone (HCG), and intercourse is scheduled in the two subsequent days.
